Admission Season is Here for New Students!

You know best what Bishop Reicher has to offer! Word of mouth and personal referrals are two of the best way for families to learn about our amazing school. So many of our current families chose Bishop Reicher Catholic School because someone recommended us. Tell your family and friends about our school and have them contact Mrs. Becky Chollett at 254.754.2041 or bchollett@bishopreicher.com to schedule a personal visit to learn more about our school.

Virtue of the Month

From now until Easter, both campuses are delving into learning about the virtue of KINDNESS. Students will view videos and be introduced to saints connected to this virtue. So, ask your student during the next several weeks what they are learning about the virtue of KINDNESS.

Questions and Answers About Lent and Lenten Practices

I understand that all the Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat, but I'm not sure what is classified as meat. Does meat include chicken and dairy products?

Abstinence laws consider that meat comes only from animals such as chickens, cows, sheep or pigs - all of which live on land. Birds are also considered meat. Abstinence does not include meat juices and liquid foods made from meat. Thus, such foods as chicken broth, consommé, soups cooked or flavored with meat, meat gravies or sauces, as well as seasonings or condiments made from animal fat are technically not forbidden. However, moral theologians have traditionally taught that we should abstain from all animal-derived products (except foods such as gelatin, butter, cheese and eggs, which do not have any meat taste). Fish are a different category of animal. Salt and freshwater species of fish, amphibians, reptiles, (cold-blooded animals) and shellfish are permitted.
