Austin Tri-Hawk Awards New Scholarships

Austin Tri-Hawk decided that they wanted to expand their community scholarship program. They had awarded scholarships for several years to Austin High School students, but this year they decided to expand the opportunities to students that attend Scottsburg High School.

One of their points of emphasis is that the recipient plans to return to Scott County to make a difference here after college. Kendra Paul and Grace Hicks were the initial recipients of these scholarships.

SHS would like to thank Austin Tri-Hawk for supporting our community!

Health Perspectives Participate in Pound

Students in the New Tech Health Perspectives class have been studying healthy lifestyles including nutrition and making healthy food choices. This past week they had a special class that introduced an exercise program to the students. John Harlow came in and introduced them to an exercise program called Pound.

Pound transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements.

Designed for all fitness levels, Pound provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to people of all ages and abilities.
