Freeman Mustangs Newsletter #1
August 7, 2020
Welcome Back to School!
Freeman Families,
I want to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! What a 2020 it has been. As we know, this year will look different than it has in the past as we will start fully virtual at least for the first quarter. For those of you who have been Mustangs before this year, thank you for your patience and grace as we navigated uncharted territory beginning in March. If you are new to Freeman, welcome! We look forward to getting to know you and your family. While we won't see you daily in person, we are still committed to partnering with you to create high levels of learning for our students.
I am honored to serve as your building principal for the fifth year and work with you throughout the year. I know there are many questions surrounding what this year will look like and we are working to get communication out to you.
We want to communicate with you! This year we will be using S'more as our platform for communicating our newsletter. You will find links and videos embedded into the newsletter and we will be using School Messenger to email this out as well as pushing it out using Seesaw, once the school year as started. If you haven't yet liked our Facebook page, check it out at J H Freeman Elementary School.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
I'm looking forward to working with you this school year!
Respectfully,
Crystal Dvorak
Principal

Updates to Our Building
On the inside, our custodial crew has worked tirelessly throughout the summer as well. Even though students won't be entering the halls in August as we had hoped, the building has been cleaned top to bottom and the floors are nice and shiny with fresh wax! We now have lockers for all of our students as the last five lower level classrooms added lockers instead of hooks. Many walls and stair railings have been painted and we've added pocket tables in the gymnasium for lunch.
Student Supplies from 19-20
Updated School Supply Lists
School supply lists have been updated to identify items that will be helpful to have at home for the Virtual Learning Experience. Please note that many items are the same for different grade levels and can easily be shared by siblings. You likely may already have some of the supplies at home. https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1596808466/sd129org/lx4q51ifanitll6rdrwp/supplyflyerVirturalELEM-20-21.pdf
