The Pamlico Sound along with other North Carolina estuaries are threatened by the changes surrounding them due to the contamination threat they bring. If the estuaries are contaminated by harmful bacterias or substances, the estuaries will easily spread those substances or bacterias and could harm many organisms including us humans.
