“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” —Maya Angelou
Our team is currently reviewing the recommendations. Our goal is to try to plan for in-person instruction for our students as much as possible. With social distancing requirements, it may limit the number of students in a room, which would require more rooms and more staff to cover those rooms.
With these limitations, we may need to consider a blended model of some students in school and some students in remote learning. From there we would come up with a rotation between those groups.
Next year will be a whole different experience for your child and our teaching staff. We also know some of you are awaiting decisions on our plans in order for you to make planning decisions as well. We will continue to keep families updated on our planning progress.
Continue to stay healthy and safe. We have provided COVID-19 resources on our website for families to review. Click the button below to access these resources.

Ms. Kelsie Loumeau- 2nd Grade
Hello and happy summer! My name is Kelsie Loumeau and I am beyond excited to be joining the Millburn community. A little bit about me-- I graduated from Illinois State University in May 2018, with a degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in ESL. I completed half of my student teaching at Woodland Elementary West, teaching 1st grade. The other half of my student teaching took place in Eastbourne, England in a 4th grade classroom. The past two years, I have taught 3rd grade in Round Lake, at Ellis Elementary.
On a personal note, my boyfriend and I just moved into our first house in downtown Grayslake! Living with us, is our 5-month-old mini Goldendoodle, named Remy. I love cooking, crafting and walking into our new town with my pup! I can't wait to officially meet everyone and start working together. Have a wonderful rest of your summer!

Mrs. Danielle Butts- 3rd Grade
Hello! I’m Danielle Butts, and I’m so excited to be a Millburn Mustang this year! This will be my 8th year as an elementary teacher, but my first year in 3rd grade! I previously taught 2nd grade for five years and 4th grade for two years. I graduated from Lake Forest College with Bachelor’s Degrees in Education and American Studies. I also have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL Endorsement from Concordia University of Chicago. I love learning and technology, so this past year I worked to become an International Society for Technology in Education Certified Educator, and I am now beginning to work towards my National Board Certification.
My husband Luke and I love spending time with our daughter Sydney and two playful pups, Trumpet & Fritz.
I’m looking forward to getting to know the Millburn students and families!

Lifetouch was shut down due to COVID and is currently working with a smaller staff for safety purposes. Unfortunately, we do not have information as to when the yearbook will be delivered. Once it has been delivered, families will be made aware and will be informed of how they will be distributed. We apologize for the delay.
If you are still interested in purchasing a yearbook, there is still 15 -20 left for sale. You can purchase it on Push Coin. Once you have done that, please email the receipt, along with your child's name and homeroom, to Miss Maier at amaier@millburn24.net.
