2nd Grade Happenings

April 28, 2016

Let me start out by sending my congratulations to all the 2nd Graders who are receiving their 1st Communion this weekend! I am very excited for them as they receive another sacrament in their Catholic faith!

May Crowning

On Friday (May 6th) the school will celebrate its annual May Crowning (crowning of Mary). The Second Graders will be recognized at this Mass (9:00am) for having just received their 1st Communion. The students will wear their 1st Communion outfit to school. The 2nd Graders will process in for Mass and also be part of the the crowning of Mary. After Mass is the annual May Pole dance performed by the 3rd Graders. Please join us for this special event. After the May Pole dance, 2nd, 3rd, and 8th graders and their parents will have a reception in the Gathering Space. After the event, the students will change back into their uniforms.
If your child did not receive they are encouraged to wear dress clothes as every 2nd Grader will be part of this Mass.

Art Museum Field Trip

On Monday, I sent home with your child the permission slip for our field trip to the Art Museum (May 24th). A couple of key reminders,
  • I need to know if you want to chaperone by Monday (May 2nd) at the latest
  • The cost is $5.00 per student. Please send cash or check with your permission slip

Rosary Blessing

As part of 4th Grade's MMO this coming Monday, Fr. Jim will bless any rosary that they students bring. This will be a perfect time for any rosary that the students receive as gifts for their 1st Communion.
