Distance Learning Site Here
In an effort to help you organize all the information and resources from teachers and staff that has been shared, please save and review the linked site below.

SST Spring has created a site for Distance Learning with a goal to help parents and students find information quickly and not overwhelm you with the process of having to scroll up and down your Parent Square and/or classdojo posts to remember links and assignments. Items you will find on the site:
• Parent guide on how to set up and use google classroom
• Grading expectations
• Teacher’s zoom and google classroom access
• Additional resources for students and parents
• Distance learning rules and procedures
This site is and will continue to be a work in-progress as we continue to add more information as needed. Please take a look and save the site. I will also make sure to link it to the top of our SST homepage for easy access.
IMPORTANT- Starting next week, Monday, April 6, 2020, we will be moving away from learning packets and beginning distance learning through Google Classroom only. The first two weeks’ student participation wasn’t mandatory but starting on Monday, April 6, 2020 all students are required to complete all assignments given by each teacher, which will be graded based on SST guidelines.
Please note: You will need home internet access to access Google Classroom and other learning websites. If you do not have internet access either via wifi, broadband, or cellphone hotspot, you will need to get access. During this stressful time, Spectrum, AT&T, and Comcast are offering free internet for 60 days to homes with children home due to school closures. They also have made all their wifi hotspots around the city free and open to the public. Several cell phone companies are also offering free hotspot services to be included with your plan (please contact your cellphone company directly for more information).

Apart We Stand Together
April 6, 2020
SST Family,
Though we are apart right now for our health and safety, we at School of Science and Technology continue to support each other as a community, and right now we must work together to fight COVID-19. In order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, School of Science and Technology will be reaching out to you via email, phone, text message, and social media over the next two weeks to share vitally important guidance.
This guidance is based on what scientists know about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and it is our hope that you will do what you can to follow these practices and share them with your friends and family.
Thank you for all you are doing to educate your children at home and all the efforts you’re making to keep your family healthy and safe. We know this is a difficult time. If we stand apart as a community during this stretch and continue following the public health practices we will be sharing over the coming days, we will be back together soon.
Stay well,
Elsye Rodriguez
Health Coordinator
