Message from PV Health Office
Dear Park Village Parents,
We would greatly appreciate your assistance in keeping illness in our school at a minimum. Currently, we have a variety of illnesses and virus’ taking up residence in our classrooms. We hope that with your assistance we can break this illness cycle and get everyone back on the road to recovery.
We offer these general guidelines to assist you in determining when to keep your child home from school.
Please keep your child home if:
- He/she has had a fever, vomiting or diarrhea within the past * 24 hours
- School policy is a child should remain home for at least 24 hours after temperature returns to normal.
- He/she has had a cough that makes it difficult for your child to do their schoolwork or the cough is disruptive to the class.
- He/she has a runny nose that makes it difficult for your child to participate and interact with other children.
- He/she does not feel well enough to participate in the school activities for the day.
- He/she is medicated with antibiotics and must stay home for the first 24 hours on medication.
*Many of the children who have fevers or vomited before they go to bed may feel better the next morning so they come to school. The majority of these children are back in the Health Office by noon sick or feverish and have infected many more children. We ask that you do not give your child a fever/symptom reducer before sending them to school. Chances are, the medication will wear off and we will be calling you to pick up your child. When a child is ill, the best place to be is at home
We thank you in advance for understanding and your consideration in safeguarding the health of all of our students and faculty. If you have any further questions regarding this policy, please feel free to call our office at 484-5621 ext 3203.
Congratulations to our PEEPS Winners!
- Lilly in 3rd grade - Pollution affected the whole world and is unfair to many people and animals.
- Freddy in 3rd grade - Something unfair is that girls cannot do all what boys do - but girls can do anything boys can do!
- Ryo in 5th grade - Bullying is the No. 1 reason.
- Sydney in 5th grade - Something unfair is how certain people of different religions are treated unfairly. This affects them because their feelings were hurt.

Donate Your Outgrown Children's Books & Support the Library
Are your shelves overflowing with books that your kids have outgrown or don’t want to read? The school library would love to have them. The library will add the donations to the collection, sell them as a fundraiser, or offer them to teachers for their classroom libraries. It’s a great way to reduce your clutter and recycle!
The library accepts children’s books that are in good condition and are age-appropriate for kindergarten to fifth grade students. I do not accept young adult or adult books. Place your donations in the collection box by the library door. Thank you for supporting the school library!
