News From Mrs. Bethune:
We had such a fun and exciting Catholic Schools Week. The students enjoyed all the fun activities! The teachers also enjoyed participating in the fun! Please be sure to join us tonight for our Catholic Schools Week Celebration Soup Supper from 5 to 7pm. There will be also be a cake decorating contest and fun for all! The soups are handmade by your child(ren). All are welcome and the dinner is a free will donation with proceeds going toward needed curriculum.
In the newsletter this week you will find the Parent Teacher Conferences sign up genius. Please be sure to select a time that works the best for your and sign up to meet with your child(ren)’s teacher(s). It is important to us that we communicate and hear from you about your children and help you with educating them. The password for the sign up is Patrick2018. If you do not sign up by February 9th we will begin assigning you a time. The junior high teachers all meet with the parents at the same time so if you have a junior high student you will only need to sign up for one time. Also the Lincoln Public Schools Title 1 teachers will be here on Tuesday for conferences. Please see the sign up for a time to meet with them as well.
Have a great 3 day weekend! We truly honor our time with your child(ren)! It has been a real joy to get to celebrate with them this week!
God Bless,
Mrs. Bethune

Rome trip for Pius Students
To 8th Grade Band Parents and Students,
I have an exciting opportunity to share with you and your student. This last November the Pius Band received a special invite to perform in Rome, Italy for their New Year's Day parade. It was recently decided that the band would travel to Rome for this event. Since your student will be a freshman next year, this trip may be an option for your student as well!
This trip is an entirely optional part of being in the Pius Band. If you should decide not to send your student they are still more than welcome as part of the Pius Band. Not all students will choose to attend. Our freshmen are an important part of the band regardless of the trips.
It is an incredibly exciting opportunity as well. The band would leave on December 27th 2018 and return on January 3rd 2019. In addition to the parade, there are currently tentative plans to visit the Vatican, tour the catacombs, and even tour Pompeii.
Students who wish to participate in this trip must be enrolled in band both semesters for their freshmen year to be eligible to attend. Parents may also come sign up to come along with the band. The cost for parents will be similar to that of the students.
There is an informational meeting on Thursday, February 8th 2018 at 7pm in the Pius LPAC. We will be discussing all the available information and answering questions regarding the trip. Please attend this meeting for more information regarding this great opportunity.
There will be an initial deposit of $200 dollars due March 1st for those who decide to attend.
Thank you!
