Birth and Death Information
Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Hodgensville Kentucky. He was shot in Ford Theater in Washington D.C. by John Wilkes Booth. He died the morning after of a wound in the head on April 15, 1865.
Childhood and Family Information
Lincoln had an average size family with five family members,but his little brother died an infant and his mother died when he was nine years old. Later in his life his father married a woman named Sarah.

Education Information
He had very little formal education. In fact, he later in life admitted had only about a years worth in school. He would walk miles to borrow books from his neighbors. One of his favorite books was Life and Memorable Actions of George Washington.
Important Life Events
Lincoln had two inauguration ceremonies because he was re-elected after his first term as the President (from 1860-1864).
The murder in Ford Theater changed the whole country. It was a sad time for them.
Lincoln said the Gettysburg address in honor of the soldiers who died in the battle. It gave the country a motivational kick start.
Accomplishments
The biggest accomplishment of Lincoln's life was becoming the U.S. president. Sadly all of his other accomplishments are on other topics.
Contributions to Change
As president he Abolished slavery in the South, helped end the Civil War, and even established a construction plan for when it ended!
