Social Studies

We discovered a problem early in the week. The teachers are not being very good digital citizens!! Students have been given the task of teaching others (including the teachers) about digital citizenship. Each class will become experts on a different part of digital citizenship through research and then will create a product or presentation to teach the rest of 2nd grade. We can't wait to see the results!

Math

Listen below as Connor describes what we have learned about in math this week.

Science

This week in Science we have been working to build a bridge. We visited the Maker Space to make a team plan and even got to build using the materials in there. Check out the pictures below!

Writers Workshop

This week in Writers workshop, we have been working with the narrative story structure. We get better at writing by studying the works of other authors. We looked at mentor texts and looked for problem, solution, character, and setting. This will help us next week improve our own stories.

Readers Workshop

This week in Readers workshop we practice making inferences and predictions about texts based on our own background knowledge and what the author tells us. Ask your student about the prediction they made when reading Bark, George!.
