Meet our State Runner-Up!

Paityn London, Aquin 4th grader, placed 2nd in the Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Contest! She competed in the 9 year-old girls division at the State Contest on Saturday, April 6 in Chatham. She made 19 of 25 in the initial shoot. That put her in a tie for 2nd place. She then shot 4 of 5 to claim the State Runner-Up title and a very nice trophy.

Way to go, Paityn!

Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign!

To help promote Aquin Preschool and its move to our St. Thomas Campus next fall, we have invested in some signs and flags that are popping up around Freeport. Last week, our yard signs arrived and were distributed to homeowners with 'good traffic' for high visibility. This Friday we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of 4 'feather flags' which will be placed at St. Thomas on Kiwanis Drive and Pearl City Road.

If you are in a 'high traffic' area and would like a yard sign for our Preschool, please contact We have a couple left from our initial supply and are contemplating an additional order.

And please keep spreading the word about Aquin Preschool--at St. Thomas in Fall 2019!

Help Save a Life!

The Red Cross is installing smoke detectors in Freeport's 3rd Ward on April 27 and they could use helping hands to carry supplies, fill out paperwork, etc. Students and adults can help some of the on-duty firefighters who will be installing detectors. The time is 9-4, but any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested and available, please contact Blair Senneff at to arrange the details.
Big picture

"Aquin High School Rotary Interact Club got a visit from Rotary District Governor, Kathy Kwiat-Hess on April 8, 2019. The club is wrapping up their school year with over 10 service projects completed and over $2600 in donations. What a wonderful demonstration of community service and leadership."

Interact Officers, their advisor and the Governor took a picture yesterday in the library. They are from left to right: Aquin Interact Advisor Connie Gogel, Aquin Interact Officers Gwen Stovall, Hailey Dittmar, William Gustafson, Griffen Whalen, Collin Challenger, Aidan Curry, Ty Stykel and Zeita Gastel, Rotary District Governor Kathy Kwiat-Hess. Missing from the photo is Shirley Hounnou, an Aquin Interact Officer.

Way to go, DAWGS!
