Curriculum
No Name Work-
No name work continues to be a struggle for some. Please remind kiddos the importance of putting their name on their page!
Reading -
This week in Reading we were learning characters actions. The story we are reading is a tall tale called, "Stormalong." It is a fun story with lots of exaggerations.
Writing-
The kids completed their fall descriptive paragraph this week. Now its my turn to grade them. They will be coming home next week. We are also going to be writing a descriptive paragraph about the haunted house they created!
We are continuing to focus on writing in complete sentences and adding details to our writing. Our next writing piece will be a personal narrative.
I am working on uploading our spelling lists to spelling city. This is a great way for kids to practice their spellings words. https://www.spellingcity.com/graymela/ Spelling words are also located on our website as well http://www.grayskiddos.com/spelling-words.html
Math -
Kids are bringing home their Unit 2 Math Test tonight. Test corrections are due tomorrow.
Our next unit is all about factors, multiples, and prime numbers. This unit we will be starting our math workshop. The kids will be split into 3 or 4 different groups. Math workshop will help me meet the needs of all learners in math with either giving extra support or providing more of a challenge where needed.
Science -
We are continuing our learning of the states of matters. The kids did a fantastic job of presenting their containers to keep their ice cube from melting. Next on our list is to talk about evaporation.
Social Studies -
We are wrapping up our unit on map skills. They are working on identifying locations based on their lattitude and longitude. On Friday, they will have a short quiz.
Computer Lab
Today in computer lab the kids learned how to create bookmarks in chrome. Each kiddo bookmarked our classroom webpage.
Kids also copied our classroom calendar to their own google calendar. You can do the same by clicking on the "+google calendar" button at the bottom of the classroom calendar page. Then click on add to my calendar. Let me know if you have any questions on how to add it.
Wish List Items
