MVMS HIGHLIGHTED TEACHERS
MS. RUTLEDGE
~Mr. Flores
I have the immense pleasure of working with Miss Rutledge all day, every day. She is extraordinarily organized, collaborative when discussing student goals, and has the ability to problem solve in a pinch. She never fails to earn the respect of her students while holding them to a high standard in the classroom. Throughout her time here at MVMS, our band program has achieved constant success under her direction. I truly view her professional opinions/feedback as invaluable and am so grateful to have her as my mentor.

Miss Gordner is super energetic, and just great to work with. The kids absolutely adore her, and she is great at making sure everyone is having a fun time. I've worked with a ton of band directors over the years, and I can definitely say that Miss Gordner is the most interesting and exciting to be around!

7TH GRADE GIRLS SOCCER
Last week the 7th grade girls soccer team traveled to Fredericksburg. The girls came out ready to play and worked together as a team to defeat the Billies 2-0. The girls' camaraderie and hard work paid off throughout the game as the defense did not allow the Billies offensive side of the field most of the game. Nora Conrad and Railynn Wiemers both scored for the Panthers with the assist coming from Avery Perez with 2. Kacey Farris had 10 saves. Congratulations on the win.
8TH GRADE GIRLS SOCCER
The 8th grade girls played their last home game of the season on the Panther Field last week and came away with a tie against Fredericksburg 1-1. Camia Patterson made 1 goal with an assist from Kylie Schutze. Claire Boehme had 6 saves. The Panthers have been working really hard in practice and showed great teamwork throughout the game. Way to go 8th grade Girls!!
7TH GRADE BOYS SOCCER
Game 5- MVMS vs Boerne South (05/02/2022)
The 7th grade Panthers played Boerne South on Monday, May 02, 2022.
The Panthers took a cool approach to their final game, resulting in their opponents quickly
scoring against them. Early into the first half they found themselves behind 0-2.
After regrouping the Panthers flipped the switch and played much better, keeping their
opponents from scoring again and putting two points on the board before the end of the half.
Both goals were scored by Andru Salazar. The second half of the game saw both teams playing
hard but the score remained the same, finishing at 2-2.
The Panthers improved individually and as a team this season, their greatest strengths being
their work ethic, their desire to win and their ability to work as a single unit!
MVMS finishes their season undefeated with 3 wins, 2 ties and 0 losses.
8TH GRADE BOYS SOCCER
Game 4- MVMS vs Fredericksberg (04/28/2022)
The 8th grade Panthers played Fredericksberg on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
The Panthers outplayed their opponent, keeping them largely on the defensive throughout the
first half. Tripp Robins scored the first goal of the game.
The Panthers didn’t take long to score another goal as Connor Crisp made good on a Penalty
Kick.
As the game wore on, Fredericksberg managed to score a goal and then another in an exciting
exchange as Panther Goalie Johnny Guzman defended a PK and another shot, finally allowing
a goal after three shots were taken on him. With the game tied and 10 minutes on the clock,
Connor Crisp scored a third goal for the Panthers, maintaining their advantage. The boys won
3-2 over Fredericksberg.
MVMS looks forward to their next game on Friday, May 6 2022, as they travel to play Boerne
South.
