SUMMER CHOICE READING

CHOOSE to READ

In an effort to promote summer reading, Alvin ISD purchased numerous books for our junior high patrons. Students were offered the opportunity to choose a book to keep. If a student decided to keep a book, they signed a McNair Junior High Choice Reading Pledge. A copy of the pledge can be viewed by clicking the button below. We ask that students who are participating in SUMMER CHOICE READING promise to read their FREE book and create a digital book talk on Flipgrid. Instructions for creating and posting a book talk on Flipgrid are included in this newsletter.

RMJH LIBRARY SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

Big picture

Challenge Yourself to READ!

After about a week of summer, students often start to exclaim, "I'm bored!" and, "I have nothing to do!" Instead of wasting hours of your life on YouTube or gaming, come visit the RMJH Library! We are open most Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Each Tuesday at 10:00 am we are featuring a guest reader that will read the first chapter of a 2019-2020 Lone Star book followed by an activity at 11:00 am. Check out our flyer below for details!

Take the Summer Reading Challenge to help keep away boredom and earn prizes! Do you want a chance to win AIRPODS? If so, all you have to do is complete level 4 of the Summer Reading Challenge. Check out the flyer that explains everything you need to know about reading to win cool prizes.
