VYLYAN - AT A GLANCE
Selecting 'Vylyan' as the name of the enterprise reflects Vylyan's commitment to the region - this word was used for today's modern 'Villány' in a 15th century manuscript. Tradition indeed means a lot for the winery: the quill pen served as inspiration for its logo.
While the plantations date back to 1992 and are on the beautifully located slopes of the Villány Hills, the winery set foot on the Black Hill (Fekete-hegy). These choices were made with the main principle in mind: to create the best possible.
Soil, climate and hard, enthusiastic work of an open-minded professional team sets Vylyan apart: today it counts as one of the trendsetters in the Villány wine region.

VILLÁNY - HUNGARY'S SOUTHERNMOST WINE REGION
The area of Villány lies at the crossroads of three regions and is considered the southernmost wine-growing area of Hungary. Due to its unique location and its exposure to warm winds from the south its climatic conditions show a strong sub-Mediterranean character. Soil here is mostly limestone with patches of clay and loess. Overall, as the 2,463 hectares of cultivated terroir is reminiscent of Burgundy, Villány as wine-growing region is primarily known for its red wines.
