Dear Parents/families
Our week started with a fantastic presentation of Australian music and stories by Paul Taylor. The whole school was able to enjoy learning more about Australian arts and culture. A big thank you to the Blue Sage for helping to provide this opportunity for our students.
Our 4th and 5th grade students who went to the Canyonlands were wearing their new screen printed shirts and were so excited to be on their way. We can’t wait to hear about their adventures when they are back at school. A few 4th and 5th grade students who stayed at school enjoyed special activities. They did some cooking, made slime, and created a volcano. Thanks to Sam for helping with these fun (messy) group projects!
Our 6th graders also had time to work on special projects this week and to continue our research for the Denver field trip. We created a design that will be screen printed on shirts for our trip. We started a new mural panel and we worked on our Eco Challenge projects. It was a busy, creative week!
On Friday night remember to check out the Annual Student Spring Art Show at the Creamery Arts Center in Hotchkiss. On Saturday our Foundation is hosting our Trivia Night at the same location. Check out our website for more information about these fun events. We hope to see you at the Creamery!
6th grade graduation is on Thursday May 26th at 10am. 6th grade families - watch for a Sign Up Genius RSVP arriving in your inbox soon.
Next week:
Next week 15 of our students will participate in the Battle of the Books at Cedaredge Elementary. This is a district competition about —BOOKS!. Students will answer trivia style questions about books/authors from a reading list that we have had for the past few months. Good luck NFM@C!
Next week will be a “normal week” with all of Upper El. back in classes. We are looking forward to our Spring Music Concert and the Lower El. Spring Play.
***Many thanks to the parents and community members who sent treats, notes and gifts to our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. We are so grateful to have your support!
***Many thanks to all of you who volunteer. Together we create amazing opportunities for our students.
