Herbert Hoover was the president during the Great Depression. He is believed to have started the great depression by letting businesses borrow very large amounts of money and by not managing the stock market and Wallstreet

How The Great Depression Started

The Great Depression didn't really start all at once, there were many factors that lead to it including The Stock market failing, Banks Failing, and Farms over farming certain areas of the US. Also, Company's borrowed to much money so they couldn't repay the government

and Wall street isn't managed by the government
