St. Baldrick's Time is Approaching
Our event will be March 25th at 2pm. Only Washington staff and students can register to be a shavee at this event, but parents are welcome to attend the assembly. Anyone can donate online. Students interested in being a shavee at the March 25th assembly should be signed up by Friday, March 13th on the Washington Baldrick's website. We will then send a Participant's Agreement home for parents to read and sign.
This year, we have added the option of doing ponytail cuts. The process for this is a bit different than shaving, so please contact Mrs. Craig for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Washington families interested in donating can pledge a shavee or donate toward our event. All donations go to St. Baldrick's. Donate online here: Washington Baldrick's Donations.
We are honoring 4th Grader Chase Ewoldt with our event. Thank you for your support
Washington Celebrations - Way to go, Knights!
This year, Washington had 54 entries submitted for PTA Reflections. Six students advanced and were honored February 24th at a districtwide ceremony at Hubble Middle School. Ellie Livingston and Chase Ewoldt are both advancing to the state competition. Josara Wilhelm was also honored as one of three districtwide winners of the Superintendent's Art Award. Thanks to Mr. Grant Rebro for chairing Reflections this year.
Twelve of our Washington writers were award-winners in the annuarl ITBE Poetry Contest and were honored at a ceremony at the ITBE Conference on February 28th. Thanks to EL teachers Mrs. Amy Kovarik, Mr. Don Casper, and Mr. Brian Clark for supporting the students in their writing and submitting their work.
Washington made a great showing at the annual Franklin Middle School Charity Dodgeball Tournament. A team consisting of 5th grade girls from Washington and another school won the girls' tournament. One of the Washington 5th grade boys' teams finished in 2nd place.
Last, but certainly not least, congrats to the Washington Battle of the Books competition team for a season filled with great meets and tons of spirit and sportsmanship! We are so proud of you! Thanks to Mrs. Jill Baer and Mrs. Nancy Taylor for coaching the team this year.
