Readers Workshop
During our shared reading, we reviewed sequence by listening to the Eric Carle story, Roosters Off To See the World. This led into a little author study and comparing and contrasting many Eric Carle stories. We read many books, discovered that he LOVES to write about animals, and created some art activities to go with some books.

Math Workshop
We started our addition unit this week! We learned many different ways to come up with math sentences, the math signs needed to make an addition sentence, and discovered that math and joining numbers are all around us. The students acted out math stories using a playground work mat with a friend and will be making addition stories for our bulletin board next week. Here are some pictures of our math tubs since we don't have work coming home from this time!
K.OA.1 Understand addition as putting together and adding to, and understand subtraction as taking apart and taking from.
