Having food aversion
Food aversion is a common symptom and warning sign of Bulimia. People will avoid food all together and refuse to try anything new.
Over exercising
If someone is over exercising to an unhealthy amount, it could be a warning sign of bulimia or an eating disorder.
Binging
People with Bulimia will binge on large amounts of unhealthy foods and feel extremely guilty afterwards.
Facts to know about Bulimia
- Doctors are not required to report Bulimia cases to health agencies.
- Studies say that bulimia currently affects 1-3% of middle and high school girls and 1-4% of college girls.
- 90% of people with bulimia are women.
- Purging bulimia- When you regularly, self induce vomiting or misuse laxatives.
- Non purging Bulimia- When you use other methods to rid excessive amounts of calories, such as exercising at unhealthy rates, strict dieting, or fasting.
