Welcome To Week SIX!

Dear Brahma Family,

This is Homecoming week! Each day features a Spirit Day, organized by USB. Additionally, there will be lunchtime activities for all the Homecoming Court nominees. Friday night’s football game against Baldwin Park will include our annual Homecoming halftime show and parade. When it comes to Homecoming Halftime, no one does it better than the Brahmas! The Homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday night at The Observatory in Santa Ana.

It was a long drive to Paloma Valley High School on Friday night, but watching the Brahmas play a great game and bring home the victory made it worthwhile. There was an impressive crowd considering the 90+ minute drive to Menifee. Thank you to the Pep Team and Thundering Herd for making the trip and cheering the Brahmas to victory. Following a tough loss on Tuesday against Walnut, our Volleyball team rebounded admirably, sweeping Rowland on Thursday evening and leveling their league record at 1-1.

Congratulations to Brahma Alumni Sahith Theegala! Sahith broke through this weekemd with his first win on the PGA Tour. Sahith won the Fortinet Championship in Napa by a two-shot margin. A graduate of the class of 2015 from Diamond Bar High School, Sahith continued his education at Pepperdine University, where he earned NCAA All-American honors three times as a golfer. He joined the tour in 2020 and has has come close to victory on several occasions. It’s great to see him break though and get that first victory.

Senior Scholars! These high achieving students represent the top 1% in the country. Semifinalists are the highest scoring entrants in each state. Qualifying scores vary from state to state and from year to year, but the scores of all Semifinalists are extremely high on the PSAT Exam. NMSC provides scholarship application materials to Semifinalists through their high schools. Every month, each of our GLCs has an opportunity to recognize one student who they feel is representative of the qualities they would like all Brahmas to display. Here are the students being recognized in the month of September 2023.

Students applying to Universities of California (UC) and/or California State Universities (CSU) are invited to attend an information session. DBHS College and Career Center is hosting this event on Monday, 9/18 from 5:30-7:30pm, in our Theater. This night is designed to help students with the UC and CSU applications.

Due to the popularity of this opportunity more times have been made available for Saturday, September 30th and Sunday October 1st for a family photoshoot at Chino Hills Wetlands.
