#YouMatter: We remind ourselves this week that it's normal for our coping skills to change. It's normal when our go-to coping skill isn't working for us much anymore. It can feel frustrating, scary, and sad. 'Anything that impacts our thoughts, emotions, or situations may change the way our go-to coping skills work...' We remind ourselves to choose healthy habits, try new coping skills, and revisit old ones. Reach out to someone who knows you best, someone you trust for ideas. Give it time, small steps help in the long run. Don't give up! As always, have a little pun and take a mindful moment. Break the ice with an icebreaker - go down memory lane, write it down and share it with someone. Just 'donut give up!'
WRAP VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING Information
Dolphin News Splash!
February 2021
Hello Dolphin Parents!
It’s Ms. Denise and I want to let you know that I’m back! Back for FUN and ADVENTURES from the WRAP program to help make Virtual Programming for our JROB students something for them to look forward to!
I’ve compiled a list of activities that I’m sure will have them asking for more! For example, courtesy of the California Science Museum, I will be playing the role of “The Gross Scientist! The kids will be learning things like Sticky Snot, Let It Rip (Why do farts make sounds?), Spill Your Guts (Why vomiting is important!), and Germ Busters. For these and other hands-on activities, WE will provide the kids with the supplies needed for the activity.
We will recognize some Fun Facts of the day (Chinese New Year, Random Act of Kindness Day, Make a Friend Day, and more!) For Friday’s Fun Day, we’ll do some singing and dancing to end the week on a good note!
There will also be Yoga and Stretching classes, along with instructions on how to make a healthy snack, and The Boys & Girls Club will be providing the necessary supplies/ingredients!
This program is open to all JROB students from 2:30-4:30 and is sure to fill up fast, so be sure to fill out the application by going to this link:
https://www.lbschools.net/Departments/WRAP/virtual-wrap-2020-21.cfm

Library Information
Hi JROB friends,
A couple of reminders and resources to share:
- Library Books: there are still quite a few library books out from before the closure, and some from this year. If you could kindly remind your kids to bring them back, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be able to collect them next week as I continue packing up the library. I've attached an image you can put on your canvas page if you'd like.
- Summer Fun: Here is a choice board with some great resources from the LBPL, https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ToijQ_meNTYFopqxo7VCKM9N4CTO_v59Sb_OVfdYS_4/edit?usp=sharing
- While my read aloud are intended mostly for the kids, I picked one last book that is meant for everyone at my two sites. Please share with your classes if you can.
