Kindergarten Registration is OPEN!
Do you have a student ready to start Kindergarten in August 2023? Bennington Elementary is currently accepting registrations for any incoming Kindergarten students. If your child will be eligible for Kindergarten (age 5 by July 31, 2023) please visit our district website www.benningtonschools.org and click on "Enroll New Student" to register for the upcoming school year, and be sure to select the 2023-2024 school year.
Determining the enrollment for the next year is important for future staff planning. Completing registration also ensures that you receive communication regarding kindergarten. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Kindergarten Roundup for students will take place at the conclusion of summer prior to the start of the school year. More information will be sent on this at a later date. If you have any questions regarding enrollment, please call Mrs. Lehman in our school office.
Too sick for school?
It seems that cold and flu season is already upon us.
In deciding whether your child should come to school, please keep the following guidelines in mind. Any child with these symptoms should NOT come to school:
- Fever of 100 or higher; children should not return to school until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication
- Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
Please establish and encourage healthy habits with your children to help prevent the spread of illness at school.
- Teach children to wash hands thoroughly with soap for at least 20 seconds. Handwashing is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of disease
- Provide healthy foods and plenty of water, please make sure to send a water bottle with your student to school every day
- Ensure your child gets plenty of rest and engages in physical activity
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
- Keep your child home if they are sick, and avoid contact with sick individuals
Thank you for your help in keeping our students and staff healthy!
