The Buzz at Westbrook School
February 10, 2023
From the Principal...
Dear Westbrook Families,
We are so thankful to the parent volunteers that participated in first grades Leaping into Literature this week and to the PTO for organizing such a fun event. We look forward to parent volunteers coming to read on Tuesdays this month.
Kindness week will be celebrated at Westbrook from February 13th-17th. Thank you to the Westbrook Kindness Club for creating daily spirit dress themes on kindness. Please check below for the daily dress themes.
On Friday, February 17th, we will have half-day attendance for students throughout the District. Only first-grade students will attend from 9:20 AM to 12:20 PM at Westbrook. Please note the different dismissal times for our bussers and walkers. First-grade students will not need to bring lunch on half days. Our Kids’ Corner program will only be available to first-grade students from 7:00 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. Please inform your daycare providers of this variance in the schedule. Circle of Friends and Kindergarten students will NOT attend school this Friday, February 17th. We are also off on Monday, February 20th for Presidents Day.
For your children,
Danielle Crandall

Safety Notes
Thank you so much for your support of safety at Westbrook!
- Please park your car and walk your students across the bus lane for arrival. Please do NOT allow your students to walk in the parking lot unaccompanied.
Please ensure you use the crosswalk in the parking lot walking to and from Westbrook.
Please do not walk between the buses. Staff members will be in front of the school each morning, reminding families to only cross at the crosswalk.
Please do not bring dogs or animals onto school property. Many of our students are frightened of dogs.
Please contact the classroom teacher if you have a friend or family member picking up your child. Please communicate to the adult which door your child is dismissed from.
