A Dash and Dot Celebration
There was a birthday celebration in Mrs. Sherman’s fifth grade room this week. The students made a cake, created party hats, and even saying happy birthday but they were not celebrating a student‘s birthday they were helping to celebrate Dash and Dot’s fifth birthday. Dash and Dot are robots from WonderWorks and they usually hang out in the Learning Lab, but Mrs. Sherman’s class wanted to tell the world about their Special Day. So, after programming the robots to accomplish several tasks like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, they documented the whole party using Apple Clips and shared it with the world.

West Elementary School
West Elementary has fully embraced this year's theme, "This is Me!"
Kindergarten and 1st Grade students introduced themselves to classmates by creating digital posters using Wixie. Students in 2nd and 3rd grade communicated their ideas by collaborating on a digital slideshow while sharing information about their interests, goals and dreams while using Wixie and Google Slides. Fourth and fifth grade students used the video platform, Flipgrid, to introduce themselves and receive positive comments and questions. Students created posters using Google Classroom and Google Drawings. We have been building relationships using technology to create, communicate, connect and collaborate!

Taking Care of Business
Taking care of business was the order of the day. Students from Mrs. Enos’s 6th-grade class volunteered to read the daily announcements and lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance for the month of September. First volunteers Isaac and Jillian did a great job.
8th-grade students reviewed what they learned in 7th-grade Spanish class by writing their answers to rapid-fire questions asked by Señora Sullivan.
Finally, the PSMS community was all smiles as they stepped in front of the cameras on Picture Day. Believe it or not, those beautiful backgrounds that you choose are all added by computer back at Lifetouch headquarters.
