A MESSAGE FROM MR. LUCITA

Dear Jaguar Band Families,

Welcome to the month of February!! Although it is a new month, the weekly schedule continues similar to that of January.

Unfortunately, we were not able to start our weekly Tuesday afternoon Wind Ensemble rehearsals last week. However, this week we are good to go and get to have our first rehearsal Tuesday, February 2, from 5 - 7 p.m. Remember, this is Wind Ensemble students only. Let’s get ready to have an incredible rehearsal and start making even more music!

Winter Guard will continue their scheduled rehearsals as they prepare to for their competitive season! We cannot wait to see what they accomplish this season! Also, please note that there is a Winter Guard Parent Meeting on Sunday, February 7 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. Winter Guard parents, please mark this in your calendar and plan to attend; there is much information to be shared! This Winter Guard season is going to be great!

UIL Solo and Ensemble is rapidly approaching! It will be held Saturday, February 20, at Hays High School. The final accompaniment rehearsal schedule will be sent to the students this week. There are a few accompaniment rehearsals that happen during Jag time, so some students may have to ensure they are at school for those two days. Please remember that any student that is virtual will need to provide their own accompanist unless they have informed Mr Malik that they will come to Johnson for their accompaniment rehearsal using the JHS accompanist. Those students not participating in UIL Solo & Ensemble will participate in our local Johnson High School Solo & Ensemble and will not need an accompanist!

We want to share with everyone that student schedule selection is rapidly approaching, and we want build the excitement about next year and the opportunities that are headed our way!! Next year will be the first time in history that the Jaguar Band is eligible to participate in the UIL State Marching Band Contest. We have been continuously working on developing the show for next year, and it is going to be incredible! Students do not want to miss the opportunity to be a part of the excitement, fun and history-making season! Next year is also our big trip to Hawaii where we will enjoy all the island of Oahu has to offer! It is super important that our Jaguar Band members help us share what HS band is like with those 8th grade students at Dahlstrom and McCormick Middle Schools!! If you have younger siblings, family members or friends in 8th grade, make sure you let them know how awesome it is to be a part of the Johnson Jaguar Band!! We will also have additional forms (in person, virtual and written) of information and excitement to share with those 8th graders throughout the spring semester!! Let’s make sure nobody misses out on be a member of our band family!

Let’s make this another great week!! Go Jags!!!

Have a great week!

Mr. Lucita

Band Sponsorships and opportunity to put Student names on trailer!

The Johnson Jaguar Band depends in large part on the fundraising efforts of the Band Boosters. Sponsorships are a very important part of fundraising. Our Sponsorship levels have been updated, and we have a lot of exciting options for businesses AND families! We ask that every family please share this brochure with anyone you know that has a business. We are eager to help promote businesses in our community that support the Jaguar Band! If you would like color copies of our Sponsorship Brochure, we are happy to provide them.

Details of all Sponsorship Options can be found at https://www.johnsonbands.com/sponsorships.

Thank you for your support of the Johnson Jaguar Band!
