"Homework Free” Nights Information
Once again, South Brunswick is purposefully and intentionally designating “ homework free” nights throughout the year. The purpose of homework free nights is to give students time off from preparing homework and projects and studying for tests, as well as offering students an opportunity to explore topics that they are passionate about, spend time with family, enjoy outside activities, and attend South Brunswick events. There is tremendous value in engaging in meaningful homework assignments that reinforce concepts and skills taught during the school day. At the same time, there are times when we need to collectively have a break from the responsibilities of homework and enjoy time with family and friends.
“Homework Free" dates to span the 2018-2019 school year:
- Fall: November 21-25, 2018 (Thanksgiving Holiday) - No assignments due or tests given on the day of return, November 26.
- Winter: December 21, 2018 – January 2, 2019 (Winter Break) - No assignments or long-range projects due or tests given before January 7.
- Winter: February 15, 2019 – February 18, 2019 (Presidents Weekend) - No assignments due or tests given on the day of return, February 19.
- Spring: April 19, 2019 – April 28, 2019 (Spring Break) - No assignments or long-term projects due or tests given before May 1.
