A Note From Mrs. Daly
Dear Virginia Lake Families,
During these stressful times, we are all doing our best to function in the same story, yet all of us are experiencing different stressors. Our proverbial "boats" are different and the waves of what is going on in the same world crash upon us at different times and in different ways.
Please know or remember, chronic stress is a struggle. For you, for our supportive caregivers, for our teachers, and for our children, chronic stress can activate unhealthy responses such as anxiety, anger, digestive problems, sleep problems, and headaches... to name only a few effects.
Please remember, NOW is not the time to give in to the negative effects of these stressful days. We are all growing weary and tired and we want life back to the way we knew it. We can not give up on each other now and give in to the frustrations of this difficult time.
Our children need us to be their CALM during this storm. Our children are watching what we do, what we say, and how we treat each other in the process. Our children are learning habits of mind and spirit as they see us respond to life. Be your child's anchor of stability during this time of uncertainty.
On behalf of the Virginia Lake staff, we promise not to give up and we promise to continue doing our best to nurture and teach your children as our own - no matter the schedule and no matter the format. We ask that your also continue to do your best. THAT is all we can ask of each other.
We can not do this apart from one another. We can and will get through this together. #Onward
Warmly,
Mrs. Daly
