Join us for the Grand Opening Celebration! The festivities kick off at 5:30 pm with a family-friendly tailgate full of food, music, fun, and prizes!
Take part in our new Aves Arrival tradition as we welcome the team to their new home!
The celebration continues inside the stadium with a pre-game performance from the Sycamore Bands at 6:30 pm. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm against Colerain. #WeAreAviators
Lunch Schedule
We continue to examine and analyze the most student-centered, safety-conscious, and productive way to organize our lunch. As you likely know, this past week we piloted a new format for lunch in which 20% of our students ate in the HUB instead of the Commons. This was arranged to ensure our Commons seating capacity was not exceeded. However, the change did have some ripple effects that will need to be addressed. We are working collaboratively with our staff, and soliciting student feedback as well, in order to reach the best possible alternative. We will be sure to communicate this when it becomes more concrete.
ACT Torchprep for Juniors
Sycamore High School will be partnering with TorchPrep again this school year to help our juniors prepare for the national ACT!! The practice ACT/Launch test for TorchPrep will be on Wednesday, September 21st from 8:00 - 11:30. Juniors should attend 1st, 6th, and 7th bells on the 21st, but will miss bells 2-5. More detailed information will be sent to all juniors and their families soon.
School Safety
On Friday, September 9th we facilitated a mandatory school safety drill. All students participated in a classroom discussion based on a scenario developed collaboratively with the Montgomery Police Department and our high school. We encourage you to talk to your child about school safety at home as well. When talking with children about school safety, here are a few recommendations:
Encourage your child to talk about their concerns and to express their feelings
Talk honestly about your own feelings regarding school violence and validate your students feelings
Discuss the safety procedures that are in place at our school
Create safety plans with your child
Keep the dialogue going and seek help when necessary
The safety of our students and staff remains a priority. We thank you for your support and collaboration in communicating on this important topic.
