From Mrs. Barry:
I hope everyone had a relaxing, safe Spring Break! Did you know that a spring vacation has its origins in ancient Greece, but modern tradition began in 1938, with a swim event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. By 1960, droves of students headed to the beaches for Spring Break, resulting in the "party" atmosphere we see now at beaches across the country.
Originally, spring vacation was designed to provide a break from stressful college courses, giving students time to relax and decompress without stress. I think that premise holds true today! As we begin our last nine weeks of the 2020-2021 school year, it's nice to come in fresh and recharged, especially after this wild and crazy year!
Now that Spring Break is over, we have 47 days left of school. We have much to accomplish in a very short time! Between state and district assessments and finishing up grade level curriculum, as well as continuing to do some of the fun events that make Meadow Wood so special, we are going to have a very busy couple of months! This year - that seems to have gone on forever - will be over before we know it!
As always, thank you for your amazing support. We could not do all we do without YOU! Together, we are Growing Great Minds at MWE!
Go Texan Day
Go Texan Day was a success!
The cowboys and cowgirls all did an amazing job with their dances and enjoyed several stations when they were finished. Please follow the link to see video and pictures of the boot stompin’ good time!

Are you returning for the 2021-2022 school year?
Having an accurate count of students is critical for us, especially as we determine our staffing needs. PLEASE return this form as soon as possible. In addition, registration for the upcoming school year will open on APRIL 1st. We will send more information out closer to that time, but again, early registration helps us tremendously!

From the President
Hello MWE Families!
We hope you had a wonderful break and took some time to relax. Welcome back! The big news on the PTA front is that we are starting to really look at tying up loose ends from this year and moving on to the new year, which for PTA starts in May.
We still have a few smaller volunteer positions open for next year, so please reach out to President@Meadowwoodpta.com if you are interested. They are jobs like Spelling Bee Coordinator, Talent Show Coordinator, etc.
One larger position we are looking to fill is that of Treasurer-Elect. You would work under our Treasurer next year, learning the ropes, and then become Treasurer the year after that. Having someone installed earlier helps them train for the next year, so please drop a line if you are interested in that as well!
Please submit any receipts you may have to our Treasurer, Kelly Williams, by April 15th if you would like to be reimbursed. If you currently hold a PTA position, please update your POW by that same date, adding any relevant notes if you need to.
Thanks to all for continuing to support our school and PTA!
