- Review for DLA next week.
- We will continue working on our fREADom reading.
- We will continue to work on summarizing using GIST and checking our comprehension by using Author’s Portrait.
- We will continue to practice our choral reading. This is a great way to help with fluency. We read a paragraph together out loud as a class at a pace that I set. The more we practice this, the faster we will get and the more fluent we will become. The kids really have fun doing this!
- Reading Vocabulary Words/Phrases:introductions, details, drafts, genre, grammar, mechanics, multi-paragaph, organized structure, simple sentences, specific facts (We are in review. These should look familiar.)
- Reading Vocabulary Quiz: Thursday, February 28th, 2019
- Your child should continue reading nightly for 20 minutes and then getting their reading log initialed.
Social Studies:
- We will continue talking about the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, and the three branches of government. We will also be moving into the Bill of Rights, why we needed them and how they protect the liberties of American citizens. We will also be starting our first class blog! We practiced last week, and it went pretty well. Wish us luck!
- Your students will now be building their own Padlet and inviting us to join. I can't wait to see what they create!
