Weekly Highlights

  • Thank you to all the teachers for a successful Back to School Night.
  • Please continue to greet our learners with kindness, organized, colorful, learning environments and with honest preparation for becoming literate, mathematicians, scientists, historians, critical thinkers, willing and able to solve world problems, in other words PLAN, meaningful, productive interactive, and engaging lessons.
  • THANK YOU to all Classroom teachers for turning in your Star of the Week nominations!


Announcements:

  • Informal observation will continue this week. Please make sure you are referencing the Danielson Frameworks 8 focus standards.
  • Running Records Grades 1-5 are due 9/23--- DRA for Kindergarten are due 9/23
  • 1st Grade teachers please pick up and dismiss your students in the little yard.
  • UNIFORM ORDERS: Will be picked up by Ms. Lissette daily between 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. or may be placed in Ms. Lissette's box in the main office.
  • Support for students behavior or attendance may be referred to our Achievement Coaches by filling a referral form available in the PBIS Group on e-chalk
  • Child Study Team Referrals for Academic support/Behavior Support may be found in the Child Study Team Group on Echalk.
  • All grades should be completing baseline assessments in core content for data collection.
  • Students should continue to organize student binders on Friday's for portfolio work collection throughout the year.
  • We are working on getting the Rocket Store ready for students by next week 9/21---we would appreciate any donations of small toys, stuffed animals or school supplies. Thank you in advance!
  • Continue the PBIS lessons. They are available on the PBIS group on e-chalk. Continue to review BLAST with your classes.
  • Student work comment template is available in the "Classroom Resources" group on echalk.


Reminders:

  • SCIENCE UNITS start this week Monday-Wednesday--- for questions please see one of the coaches in rm 211 or email Ms. Najera
  • Please be mindful we are co-located. Let's be peaceful, pleasant partners in educating the Soundview Community
  • Please continue to encourage students to wear their school uniform
  • Remember to give students Rocket Bucks for being "BLAST" ....YOUR support in our PBIS program is key. If you need Rocket Bucks please see Ms. Lissette
  • Routines should be put into practice and refined to reduce loss of transition times (Classroom transitions to and from the classroom/ Core Curriculum in the classroom/When I'm done activities-next steps).
  • Lunch: K-1: 10:40 a.m / 2-3: 12:25 / 4-5: 1:20
  • Morning line up @ 8:00 a.m. K in the Auditorium / Grades 1-5: Little Yard (weather permitted) During extreme weather in the Auditorium.
  • End of day dismissal @ 2:20 p.m. for Grades 1-5 is outside in the little yard. K is in the Auditorium. For students safety we must continue to supervise dismissal.
  • PLEASE email your parent communication letter to administration: Shout out to 2nd and 4th grade for emailing their communication letter on time!
  • Please make sure that any student work that is displayed follows the procedures outlined in the staff handbook and bulletin board outline.
  • Bulletin boards are due the FIRST FRIDAY of the month (10/3).

  • LUNCH: No classes should be in the cafeteria or little yard before the scheduled lunch time. Please adhere to the schedule.
  • DISMISSAL: Please be on time for dismissal at 2:20 pm. Please start getting students ready at 2:10 and head down at 2:15pm. No class should leave class before 2:15pm.
  • Staff PD 2:20- 3:40 Location: 211 Topic: Independent Reading/Classroom Libraries
  • DREAMERS After School Program for Grades 3-5 2:20pm - 5:30pm
