Summer Flyer
Designed to encourage learning
Summer
Summer is a time to rest and relax but I also want to avoid the summer slide. The Primer students will be going into first grade with an extra year of school compared to their peers. I want to keep up the rigor by recommending some camps based on interest and need.
Primer resources
First, all of the resources used during the school year will be available over the summer. This means you will still have access to:
- Wixie
- Kidblog
- Reflex Math
- Mathletics
- Raz-Kids
Camp Go Noodle
Camp Go Noodle was a big hit last summer. Go Noodle is a free platform that allows children to get the moment they need.
Camp Google
Camp Google is a free summer camp that gets kids learning through fun, interactive science activities and adventures. Led by experts, the activities have been designed to encourage kids to ask questions, setting them on a lifelong journey of exploration and discovery. Learn more
Reflex Math and Skoolbo
No matter where you go, have your child help create a schedule. Set a goal. For example: three Reflex sessions per week and two Skoolbo sessions. This will help your child ease into first grade in August
Public Libraries
Highland Park, UP and Dallas offer a free summer reading challenge. Participants can get tickets to the circus, a summer musical and a Rangers game all for reading. Check your local library for more information.
Barnes and Nobles
Go to Barnes and Noble to get the reading log. Read eight books and log them. Turn in the reading log and you will get a free book.
Chuck E Cheese
Download and print out the Chuck E Cheese Reading Rewards calendar. Mark the days off with a pen or sticker as your child accomplishes their goals. Bring it in completed to Chuck E. Cheeseās and receive 10 free tokens as a reward.
