Girl's Maker Fair
EmBe will host a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Girl’s Maker Fair on Saturday, April 22, 2017, geared towards building confidence in making, early exposure to an interdisciplinary approach, and getting girls excited about fields where women are traditionally under-represented. The fair will feature booths that will help girls explore these academic areas with creativity and innovation. The event is free, in an open house setting, and geared towards girls ages 6 to 12.
Answers to some of our frequent questions:
1. What is the date/time/location/cost?
Date: April 22, 2017
Location: EmBe Downtown 300 W 11th St, Sioux Falls SD, 57104
Cost: None for the girls participating. We are not charging organizations/companies who host booths, but we ask that they cover the cost of the activities they provide.
2. How long is the event?
For the girls attending it is an open house concept, so they can come any time during the event to participate and stay as long as they want. For booth hosts it is the four hours (10am-2pm), plus set up and take down time (which is highly dependent on what you end up doing).

I am excited to bring to you some information about a new opportunity for the youth in our communities. Beth Poppen and Britney Kaufman have put together a program for our youth to have the opportunity to participate in the 4-H Market Swine and Garden Produce Project Areas. Watch for more information to come home with your child!
