The purpose of the Chokers Who Rock monthly newsletter is to share the stories of students on campus who exemplify the spirit of the GHC vision to be a catalyst for positive change. We will feature up to five students a month throughout the academic year. If you would like to nominate a Choker Who Rocks, email Lindsey Coulson, Student Life Advisor, at Students, staff, and faculty may make nominations.

Robert Sandquist

Robert Sandquist is an inspirational student who has overcome immense obstacles to get where he is today. He is 51-year old student, with 6 credits to go until he graduates with his Associate degree. Robert has had six brain surgeries and had part of his brain removed.

Lindsey Cain

Lindsey Cain is an excellent example of someone who manages school, being involved, working, and being a mom. As an accounting student, with a projected graduation date of Spring 2017, Lindsey works extremely hard to provide for her child, while taking advantage of the college experience.

Josh Takagi

Sophomore Josh Takagi has dedicated his time and life to baseball and his academics. Josh has been playing baseball since he was four years old and plays for GHC baseball team. As the salutatorian for his high school class, Josh has brought his high-achieving academics to GHC by maintaining a 3.8 GPA and as a member of PTK.

Becke Shurtz

Pre-nursing student Becke Shurtz is passionate about having a career that focuses on helping people. She hopes to start the Nursing program here at GHC next Fall and eventually work her way to being a doctor.
