Remembrance Day
Lest We Forget
About Remembrance day
On the 11th of November we remember the people who fought for our land. They signed a treaty that confirmed the ending of World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1919. We have a minute silence so we can think about what they have done to fight for our country and how many people passed away from it. Most people should be familiar with the red poppy which symbolizes the blood spilled during the war, these poppies bloomed on the battlefield the fought on.
the Ode
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
