Introducing Danielle Normand
Officer Danielle Normand has been with Hillsboro Police Department for just over 10 years now. She started her career in law enforcement with the Stratham Police Department in 2010.
Officer Normand attended Plymouth State University where she received a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a minor in Mathematics. She played on the PSU softball team for three of the four years. After her undergraduate degree, she continued her education at Suffolk University in Boston for Crime and Justice Studies. Officer Normand also played for a 10th year in the Battle of the Badges Baseball game for C.H.a.D this year.
During the month of October, SRO Normand was sporting a pink badge in honor of breast cancer awareness. She hopes you will introduce yourself as she continues to get acquainted with the community and learns what it means to be a Hillcat!
Successful Parent/Teacher Conferences
What an amazing turnout during the high school parent/teacher conferences on Thursday, October 20th. The high school had more than 100 families schedule a conference this fall.
Please remember, if you were unable to attend the conferences , you can always contact your student's teachers and school counselors at any time to learn more about things happening in the classroom and your students progress.

HD Athletics
The fall athletic season is coming to a close. We are very proud of our student-athletes for their commitment and dedication to their academics and athletic responsibilities this season.
Congratulations to Gavin Ford for placing 8th in the NHIAA D4 Individual Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 16th at Beaver Meadow Golf Course!
Congratulations to volleyball and girl's and boy's soccer for making it to the playoffs. Great Job!
Open gym for winter sports starts on Monday, October 31st. The gym will be open from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Boys teams from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and girl's teams from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
School Counseling News
November 15th--The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be offered at HDHS for those students that may be interested. This is not only for those hoping to go into the armed forces after high school. Excellent career exploration services are provided for all students that participate and can be helpful in planning next steps
National Honor Society News
THE NHS ANNUAL POINSETTIA FUNDRAISER IS BACK! We know it isn't Halloween yet, but this fundraiser is always an early one. :) Please complete this order form by November 7, 2022 to order your poinsettias! Each 6 1/2 inch plant is $15, and color choices are RED, WHITE, or PINK. Plants will be delivered to the high school by D.S. Cole Growers before Thanksgiving. All proceeds for this fundraiser will help support the National Honor Society's upcoming service projects.

Hillsboro-Deering DECA upcoming events and activities:
HD DECA is in the midst of the Virtual Business Challenge - Round 1. Follow our progress on www.knowledgematters.com Round 1 ends Friday, October 28.
We are headed to UNH on Wednesday, October 26 for the NH DECA Fall Leadership Conference. Students will be immersed in leadership sessions, competitive event strategies, and professional skill development. It is a great opportunity to meet students with similar interests, dreams, and desires from around the state of NH. There are no "divisions" in DECA - students from large schools like Pinkerton,and smaller schools like Hillsboro-Deering have the chance to be together.
HD DECA will be hosting our annual membership Induction ceremony on Tuesday, November 1 at 6PM in the high school cafe. Invitations were sent out to parents of members. We look forward to this special evening.
DECA Fundraiser
Hillsboro-Deering DECA Students are also working in conjunction with the NH Fish & Game for fundraising. Members are selling 2023 NH F&G Calendars for $12. If interested in these beautiful wildlife calendars - please seek out a DECA member or contact Mr. Payeur at mpayeur@hdsd.org
