TWHS Final Exam Exemption Policy
All students, 9th through 12th, are eligible for final exam exemptions in the Spring Semester. Students must meet the criteria and the discipline requirement listed below. Students must maintain an 85-100 class average for the semester (18-weeks). In addition, the following criteria apply as well:
- Students must meet the grade criteria listed above and the requirements listed below.
- A student granted a final exam exemption must still attend that class during the final exam period and must be present the entire duration of the final exam period to be considered exempt. Students who check out early during a final exam will forfeit the exemption, receive a grade of zero or incomplete for the exam and will need to schedule a makeup final exam. Failure to attend will result in a zero or an incomplete for that course.
- Any student that has served ISS, DAEP, or OSS while enrolled in a course during the semester of the final exam is not eligible for a final exam exemption for that course.
- To ensure that all students have the opportunity to complete their exams in a distraction-free environment, the attendance office will not be doing early checkouts during exam periods. Parents and students should plan accordingly so that students remain in their exam period the entire duration of the exam period.

TWHS FEEDER SCHOOL GRADUATE WALKS
The schools in The Woodlands High School feeder system are beginning a new tradition for the Highlander seniors. These schools are inviting the Class of 2022 to come to their campuses and parade through the halls of the building they once attended. Use this link to register for the school(s) that you wish to attend.
Please make sure to note the date and time for your elementary/intermediate school. The times and dates vary. You will want to arrive a few minutes early to get set up. Students are asked to wear their cap and gown for the parade. If you have questions about the events, please contact the schools directly.
COUNSELORS CORNER:
Senior Class of 2022: We are getting close to the end of the year. Please make sure that your students are continuing to push themselves in all of their courses. Our counseling staff wants to make sure that our seniors stay on track to graduate in these final weeks. If you have any concerns about graduation and/or classes, please encourage your students to visit with their teachers and their counselors. We hope to see everyone at graduation on May 23, 2022!
Senior Transcript fees have been loaded into the TWHS Webstore. If your senior has ordered more than three official transcripts this year, the fee will be present in their account. All transcript fees must be paid in the Webstore or in person at the TWHS Finance Office prior to receiving graduation tickets.
SENIOR CISD ACCOUNT INFORMATION - As a graduating senior, your CISD accounts including your CISD Google Account with Google Docs, Google Slides, and One Drive will not be accessible after graduation. If there are files that you want to keep, you will need to download them and save them to your own device or personal cloud storage account. The district does not archive these files. Don't delay or you could miss out on valuable information you want to keep. In addition, if students use the CISD account Office 365 apps like Word, Excel & PowerPoint, access will no longer be supported after graduation. When the program does the authentication process graduating students will lose access. To clarify, if they downloaded and use Word (for example) from their CISD Microsoft account, they will not be able to use it after their CISD account is deleted.

Class of 2024 - Rising Juniors
GPA Exemptions for the Classes of 2023 and 2024: The counselors are currently accepting GPA Exemption forms for all current sophomores and juniors for the next school year (2022- 2023). The GPA exemption is in place to allow students to exempt up to two credits during their high school career. Some current juniors took advantage of the GPA exemption this year. If you would like to see further information about the GPA exempt courses, please refer to the Counselor Corner website for more information. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s counselor. The final day to turn in the GPA Exempt application form is Thursday May 19th, 2022. Reminder: Once this course is put in place and the student starts the course in the fall, the decision cannot be reversed.
Link for GPA Exempt Courses: GPA-Exempt-Courses-1.pdf (conroeisd.net)
Note: If your student wants to wait and see their final grades this semester, there will be another opportunity to enroll for GPA exemptions in the fall semester. Fall GPA Exempt forms will be accepted through the third week of school. The fall deadline is September 6, 2022. Reminder: Once this course is put in place and the student starts the course in the fall semester, the decision cannot be reversed.
Link to the Advanced Course Agreement Form: Many of you will be asked to “sign” the Advanced Course Agreement form, however once the parent clicks on the link, it seems to disappear. Please find the Advanced Course Agreement form here to read in its entirety: Honors-Agreement-Form-1.pdf (conroeisd.net)
Dual Credit Payment Update: If your student registered for a Dual Credit class for next year, payments have been loaded into their Lone Star Account and should be ready to accept payment. The deadline to pay for your student’s Dual Credit class is Friday May 13th.
Summer School Registration: Summer school registration is underway on our campus. If your student is interested in taking an accelerated course such as health, government, etc., please reach out to your student’s counselor. In addition, if your student needs summer school for credit recovery, counselors have also started that process. Counselors do understand, however, that many parents and students wait until after final exams to register for credit recovery. The final registration deadline for on campus registration is Wednesday, June 1st.
Summer school will be at The College Park High School this summer. The link for the brochure is: Summer School - Conroe ISD
Quick Reminder: If your child is able to average the first semester failing grade with the second semester passing grade together for an overall grade of 70 or higher, summer school may not be needed. However, if a student fails second semester, the two semester averages cannot be averaged together for credit recovery. All students have to pass the second semester in order to get second semester credit.
SUMMER MOVER NOTIFICATION: If you are aware now that you will be moving during the summer and will not be attending TWHS next year, please come to the Registrar’s office and pick up a Summer Mover Notification form. Forms will be available April 14th. The form should be completed and signed by a parent/guardian and returned to Greta Champion, Registrar, before the last day of school. Please request copies of vaccine records from the clinic before the last day of school for students who are moving or graduating; we are not available during the summer to provide those. You can contact the nurse at the 9th Grade Campus by emailing jffletcher@conroeisd.net, or the Senior Campus by emailing aransley@conroeisd.net.
We are not able to store medications over the summer. All medications must be signed out by a parent or guardian by 12:00 on May 26th, or they will be discarded. Please make plans to come and get those during the month of May. We are available in the clinic from 7-3 on school days.

You can find the forms on the Health Services website, https://www.conroeisd.net/department/health-services/, or your doctor is welcome to use their own form. Parents are welcome to check in medications beginning on the schedule pick-up days at the end of the summer.
If your student is participating in athletics or band over the summer and has a chronic condition, they will need to have their plan and any needed emergency medications turned in to the athletic trainers by the first day of practice. If they have orders to carry an Epi-pen, inhaler, or diabetic supplies, they will need to show the coach that they have them.
Students who need vaccines or new Conscientious Objection exemption forms before the first day of school should have received a letter in the mail. All students must be up to date on their vaccines by the first day of school in order to receive a schedule or parking spot.
