Time Management Tips
Manage Your Time - Don't Let It Manage You!
Dealing with distractions...
Family
Consider sharing your academic goals with your family and ask them to be your "accountability buddies" so that you can get over this last, huge, huge hurdle of your degree requirements. When your goal is accomplished in a few weeks, do something together as a family to celebrate!
If you have young children, create a "busy box" for them -- fill it with movies, books, and other activities that they can only access when you are studying
Clean it up
Put up a college pennant or poster to serve as a constant reminder of your role as a student. Or hang that pennant on your door handle when you are in study mode.
Put the phone down
You need boundaries. Share your study schedule with friends and family and encourage them not to contact you or expect a speedy reply from you when you're studying. Keep yourself from being lured into lengthy phone conversations by using your Caller ID! I have a sister whose calls can tie me up for two hours at a time if I don't pay careful attention to my caller ID.
