Monster
Walter Dean Myers
Monster synopsis
16-year-old Steve Harmon sits alone in his cell thinking about what he has learned about prison in his short time there. He describes in detail the violence of his fellow inmates. Steve feels as if he has walked into a black and white movie, but that there are no real pictures. His world is just a grainy screen. He is going to write a script. Not a script about his entire life, but of his life at this particular moment. Steve names it what the prosector calls him, "MONSTER."
