STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Mark Campbell has been a Crossing Guard for 3 years. He likes to see the Little Eagles each morning. He doesn't mind putting up with the cold weather because he gets to say hi to the kids and keep them safe. In the summer, he enjoys walking around town and sometimes getting ice cream. He loves to eat at Napoleon Cafe. Mark isn't really supposed to eat candy but does like chocolate sometimes. Mark loves Diet Pepsi.
Kim Radowski has been a Crossing Guard since 2011. Kim loves iced coffee & cappacinos from Wesco! Her favorite candy is Reeses and Hersheys chocolate. Kim likes to go to Buffalo Wild Wings, JRS and Klavon's with her kids. She has three boys ages 16, 18 and 18! (Twins!) This summer she is looking forward to getting another car for her sons and going to MIS to see tractor pulls, Nascar, Faster Horses & RockFest.
Kassie Brown has been a Crossing Guard for one year. She likes waving at the buses as they go by her corner at Monroe & Broad. She especially loves to see Peyton in the afternoons because he always yells "HELLO!" Her favorite candy is "ALL OF IT...but especially chocolate." She likes to go to AKA Sushi. Her favorite thing to do in the summer is ride bikes on Falling Water Trails. She has two children who attend Columbia Schools.
We are so grateful to these three VERY important people in our school. They keep our CES & CUES students safe each morning and afternoon.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
February Guidance Lesson
Mrs. Phelps visited all classes to do a Bullying and Kindness lesson with students. She read a story about a bully at recess, then discussed what the difference is between being rude, mean, or a bully. The students talked through scenarios to better understand bullying. They also explored what to do in a difficult situation, and who they can go to for help. Lastly, they focused on what it means to be kind and did an activity to tell others something kind. Look for a sheet coming home to review "What is Bullying?"
Terrific Kids
Several of our students have been matched with a Terrific Kids Mentor. These mentors drop students off kind notes at least once weekly. The program is to help empower and support our students, and the mentors are staff and community members. If you see a note come home with your student and you are unsure who the sender is they are most likely from your child's Terrific Kids mentor. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Phelps at ashley.phelps@myeagles.org
Nutrition Lesson at Lunch
This month we had a special visitor at lunch time on 02/22. Lindsay Beaulieu, our Food Service Director, came to share a healthy eating nutrition lesson with students during their lunches. Each student went home with a bag of healthy samples and nutrition facts. Thank you, Lindsay, for the fun visit!
