Principal's Message
As the weather has finally changed and we are having colder temperatures, wind and rain. Please make sure your child wears the correct school jumpers and jackets. Students are able to wear raincoats to and from school when necessary.
Last week we celebrated Support Staff week. We are grateful for Jan-Marie McCormack, Fleur (Mrs Mac), Teresa H (Teacher Aide), Leiani and team (cleaner), Danny (caretaker), Craig (van driver), and all others who work to support our school.
It is great to see less parking on the yellow lines as per our letter from Senior Constable Brian Connors in regards to this issue.
Last week on the Accord day. The teachers worked together with Bronwyn Weston to start learning how to use e-asTTle as a formative assessment tool for learning and teaching. We looked and analysed the data we have collected from student testing and how students will be able to use this information to see their strengths and next learning steps.

Matariki Cultural Dinner
Thursday 16th June 5:30- 7:30pm. At St Joseph's School, our school community is invited to come and celebrate with us.
CATHOLIC CORNER
..
Last Sunday was the Feast of the Holy Trinity. In the Catholic church the belief that God is three persons-in-one is central to our faith. Each time we do the Sign of the Cross, we express that belief. At Baptism we are blessed… In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Ko te Ingoa o te Matua, o te Tamaiti, o te Wairua tapu. Amene. This week’s gospel value is Gratitude for Saints. The children learnt about one particularly inspiring modern day saint, Carlo Acutis, an Italian boy who did so much for others before he died at the age of 15. His love for God and optimism in spite of illness is a great example to us all.

A belated but heartfelt thanks to everyone for their participation in our recent Book Week. We all had heaps of fun in the library and have earned reward credits for more books for the students.
Congratulations to everyone for the great effort made on Book Character Day, there were lots of interesting characters on display. Congratulations also for all the winners of the colouring competitions.
Look out for more fun in the library coming up in Term 3.

Students arriving late or leaving early
There is a book in the office which needs to be signed by parents if they are dropping their child off after 9am and if they are leaving school early with them.
