Growing Together: May 11 Referendum
Did you know?
While our overall district enrollment is projected to grow more than 20% in the next decade, our elementary enrollment is projected to grow more than 20% in the next five years. That’s 1,000 more elementary students! To manage that growth, the district is asking residents if they will approve funding for a new elementary school.
To learn more, families can view a recording of this week’s April 12 Community Referendum Meeting.

Early and absentee voting on the district's referendum request is now open. All residents of Lakeville Area Schools, regardless of their county affiliation, can vote early at the District Office. You can vote early by U.S. Mail too. Call 952-232-2001 to request a ballot application or print and mail this ballot application. Get all the facts at www.isd194.org/GrowingTogether.

Family and Student Resources
We know many in our school community, and particularly our Black students, families and staff, are mourning and processing the many emotions including pain, loss, anger and confusion following the tragic death of Daunte Wright, the young Black man who was fatally shot by a Brooklyn Center Police Officer this past Sunday afternoon. We recognize that students have a variety of social-emotional needs as it relates to this tragic incident, and we want you to know that KTMS staff are here and ready to support them. Do not hesitate to reach out to us at any time.
It’s important to help our children work through their feelings and remind them that the adults in their lives care for them. We also want to share some resources that may be helpful for you as you support your students at home through processing this specific incident and/or other conversations about racism, violence or trauma:
Talking to Kids about Racial Injustice, Free Virtual Event on April 28 - Minnesota Children’s Museum
Common Sense Media: How to talk to kids about difficult subjects
As a school community we will continue to support each and every student in this critical time.
