Report cards will be sent home with your student on Wednesday, November 13. Please sit down with him/her and talk about grades and citizenship. Also, mark your calendars for parent/teacher conferences on November 25th (1:00pm-4:30pm and 5:30-8:00pm) and November 26th (1:00pm-4:30pm). We traditionally have a great turnout at our fall conferences and we want this year to be no different! Power of the Pack!

How Are We Doing?

New families - we are holding a Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, November 13th at 8:00am in the media center to touch base with you to ensure we are meeting our mission. It is important to us that you and your Huskies are pleased with us, both academically and socially. This Town Hall meeting is brought to you by Battle Alley Coffee and Holly Donut Shop. We hope to see you then. Power of the Pack!

SUPPORT FOR VETERANS

In honor of our veterans, we will be having an additional dress down day on Monday, November 11, 2019. All funds collected will be donated to Wreaths Across America, a non-profit organization that organizes the wreath laying at our Veterans' cemeteries across the nation. Our monies will be used to purchase wreaths to be placed at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.

This $1 dress down donation was not included in the yearly payment. Please send in $1, or more if you would like, with your child on Monday, November 11th. Additional donations may be dropped off in the office.

Thank you for helping us honor the memories of our heroes. Power of the Pack!

Thank you to Miss Klimaszewski and the Student Leadership class for planning and implementing Spirit Week and the Penny Drive. It was such a fun week!

Dare to be remarkable!

Huskies Daring to be Remarkable

We have five students performing in "Frozen Jr." over the next two weekends! We are so proud of the talents of these young ladies! It's great to be a Husky!

Did You Know...

As we enter the cold season research indicates the following ways we can help ourselves to stay healthy:

  1. Add Omega 3 fatty acids (fish, plant seeds, and nuts) to your diet. Omega 3 fatty acids are natural anti-inflammatories and help lower levels of depression.
  2. Cook with mushrooms because mushrooms have naturally-occurring antibiotics.
  3. Eat more green and orange vegetables to ensure you're getting healthy nutrients.
  4. Cook with spices. Onions, garlic, ginger, cilantro, and turmeric help improve immune function.

Happy Number Sense November! Check out the math calendar below! I am currently looking for parents or grandparents to share with our Huskies how they use math in their jobs. If you are interested in sharing, please contact Jen Potteiger at potteigj@hollyacademy.org.

With winter approaching, some students are in need of basic outdoor attire. The Caring Committee will be setting up a donation table in the main hallway for winter outdoor clothing. We are asking for gently used coats, snow pants, boots, and hats/gloves to benefit our students at Holly Academy. The Caring Committee will be accepting these donations from Monday, November 11th through Monday, November 25th.

BRICK PAVER

Through HAEF, you can leave a lasting imprint for your child on Academy grounds. A personalized paver is a permanent way to document your child’s years at Holly Academy. Pavers ordered this school year are installed over the summer. Students returning to HA next fall will enjoy finding their pavers and seeing it as they grow throughout their years at the Academy.
