December 6, 2015
Dear Kindergarten Families,
We had a very productive week! I can't believe it's already December! This week Kindergarten had such a fun time and worked so hard on science fair experiments. We will be continuing science fair projects this week. Keep a look out for more pictures of this week's awesome experiments on the Homeroom app! I was also very pleased with how well everyone focused and tried their best during MAP testing. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I cannot believe only a few more weeks until Winter vacation!

We will be taking a FUN frosty photo on Wednesday, December 9th as a class. Please send your students in with some winter gear: warm jacket, hats, scarf, mittens... for our fun photo! These will be used during Winter Celebration to fill the photo frames our students will be making.
4. Media Center:
We visit the media center as a class every Monday! Please make sure your student brings back their books once they have finished reading them so they can bring home new ones! Please note that students with books that are not returned or renewed within two weeks will be charge 5 cents per day overdue.
We have some fantastic readers in our class! It makes me one very proud teacher! If you have any books at home (especially nonfiction books) that you are no longer using, please consider donating them to our classroom library! I would greatly appreciate any and all books that we can collect to have more for our students to choose from.

Warm gloves and socks charity drive
It is an awful truth that many people, even in our community, are victims of violence. Often times these people seek help from local organizations.
Family Haven, an organization in Forsyth County, offers safe shelter and needed items, for free to those in need. We can help them help others, by donating.
Cold winter weather is quickly approaching. Many people are in need of warm gloves and socks.
Make a difference in someone’s life.
Be kind and generous and bring in one or more pair of gloves and/or socks.
Together we can help.
Your donations can be dropped off at the front office or your child can give them to his/her homeroom teacher.
We will accept donations until December 16th.

It could be someone in your family; a sibling, grandparent, parent etc. It would be wonderful to have all parents/families take part of this program during the year. Please limit your visits to once a month so that other families can have an opportunity to be a reader. And lastly, please keep your visit a secret from your child! Thank you so much!
