Feb. 10th Early Release Feedback

A huge thanks to Chris Serwinski, Stephen Abe, Britany Sellers, Justin Walker, Amy Light, and Michele Lee for serving as session presenters.

Overall, the feedback from February 10th's professional development was incredibly positive. Many of you liked the freedom to choose your sessions, the sessions were small enough where you felt comfortable to ask questions, and sessions were lead by a peer. Like many of the past early release sessions, the common delta was the lack of time outside of the scheduled professional development time to either play around with what you learned or implement in your classrooms. Many of you left the session(s) feeling comfortable with technology tools and excited to use what you learned.

Here is the link to all staff responses on the feedback form.

Building Together: Supporting one of our own

Earlier this year, our school system agreed to participate in a “Building Together” project run by Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. We also learned the Habitat for Humanity house will be built for one of our bus drivers, Roxanne Harris, and her family.

As a sponsoring organization, WCPSS are working to raise as much as $65,000 by March 24th. If you would like to be a part of this partnership, please donate by visiting the Building Together website. Project updates and opportunities to volunteer directly at the site of this new home will be shared in a separate email.
