A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL, KEVIN CROFT

Happy Sunday Phelan Parents-

Last week was fast and furious with some MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS!

Tuesday: The 5th grade knights took their 1st Science STAAR exam. Later Tuesday evening, Phelan's very own Xavier Villaloboz was honored as the Paraprofessional of the Year. He was selected out of 35 candidates district wide. Phelan is so thankful to have someone of his caliber helping to Build the Empire.

Wednesday: The Kindergarten field trip to Blessington Farms near Fulshear, Texas was a blast. It was off and on rain and the kids returned stating it was the highlight of the year (my words). As a principal, that made my day...I love hearing kids happy every time we do something out of the box, but as a parent...we apologize about the mud. Later Wednesday evening, Phelan had the Pre-K/ Kinder Round Up. Families were able to get private tours with Mrs. Broussard and Mr. Croft. Lots of smiling faces coming our way next year!

Friday: 1st grade students headed to Wright JH for their production of Aladdin. Thank you to Wright JH for allowing us the opportunity. Friday night, Phelan held its second Parent's Knight Out with Slime making, Balloon games, and Obstacle Course Races.

Saturday: Mrs. Broussard and Phelan's "Girls on the Run" crew, led by Mrs. Sierra, Mrs. Patterson, and Mrs. Pennygraph, headed to Rice University for the annual 5K Houston event. Girls on the Run has fun, evidence based programs that inspire girl empowerment by building confidence, kindness and decision making skills. Thank you to our coaches for continuing to inspire our next leaders.

Thank you to everyone that helped our Knights with the Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser. Overall, Phelan collected over $3, 500 for our Knights. All proceeds help fund grade level action items such as Transformations, Learning Materials, Field Trips, Kingdom Challenges, and more.

Overall it was a great week and I adore that we continue to Move Forward with such force. We have less than 20 days remaining in this instructional year. As we jump into May, let's not forget that We are THE Phelan Empire!

Until 11:30 AM on May 25, we do not forgo a SINGLE INCH!

#PhelanKnights
