REAL QUICK
We hope you had a great Valentine’s & enjoyed yesterday! Today I am scheduled to begin teaching a literature unit to our 4th grade students, & I think you know how much I enjoy getting to do that! My sincere thanks to Emily Bennett for having me as a guest teacher for a little while & for the opportunity to expose our kids to some great literature!
IMPORTANT INFO FOR THIS WEEK!
· Our Eagle Mountain 25 Skill of the week is Rule #19 –If anyone is bullying you, tell a teacher or an adult.
· Ariel Brady has been recommended as our new lunch monitor & should start this week once her paperwork is processed. She will be a great fit for EME.
· I hope you enjoyed Sharon Nobis’s Thinking Maps refresher last week. Please challenge yourself to use some different types of Thinking Maps with your instruction. I thought her training was particularly relevant & worthwhile.
· At our faculty meeting next week, Doug Sevier, principal at Northbrook Elementary, will be giving us an overview of Backwards Design Lesson Planning which is powerful. Please make plans to stay until 4:15 for this training. It involves examining the TEKS at a much deeper level, & I think you will gain a great deal from his presentation.
· Some of you have not been tweeting or blogging regularly, so please remember that we’ve committed to doing that once a week at a minimum. MANY of you are doing it several times a week which is fantastic, but others haven’t tweeted since November, so please step that back up. Also, keep track of the technology items you are completing this nine weeks, because I will ask for evidence of that!
