CLUBS | ACTIVITIES | WINTER SPORTS
Dear Upper Moreland Middle School Families,
We are very excited about so many students participating in the clubs and activities we have after school. It is great to see so many kids staying after and doing activities they enjoy. Winter sports have begun with girls basketball. Wrestling will start in December and Boys basketball will start in January.
Also, coming up are our musical tryouts, this year the Musical will be The Wizard of Oz. Rehearsals for the musical start in January, and the tryouts are in November. For more information about the musical please visit the website.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kim Frantz
Athletic Director
MIDDLE SCHOOL CLUBS
If your student would still like to join a club, they definitely can! All they need to do is reach out to the teacher. Our list of clubs and teachers can be found here Club List. Here is the link to our club calendar. Please note that this is subject to change! Any changes will be made directly on this calendar.
Please note the following information about Middle School Clubs:
100% of clubs are led by teachers volunteering their time to help students have activities to do after school.
The dates can change or be canceled.
It is very important for your child to pay attention every morning to the announcements to know what meetings are coming up or if there are any changes to meetings.
It is ok to join a club and later decide you don’t want to participate - just have your child let the teacher know
LATE BUS
If your student is taking the late bus home, please make sure they know their address. The bus stop may not be the same as their regular stop. We will help them figure out which bus to take based on their address. Generally there will be 3 buses. Here is the 3 BUS STOP LIST so you can help your child understand where to get off the bus.

Eligibility for PIAA Sports, Jazz Band, and Indoor Color Guard
A student can become ineligible to play in games at Upper Moreland Middle School if the following occurs:
- A student is failing two full-credit classes.
- A student is failing any class for three consecutive weeks.
If a student is deemed ineligible to participate in a given athletic competition(s), students are ineligible from the Sunday they are reported ineligible to the following Friday. Students can still participate in practice but cannot compete in games if they are deemed ineligible.
Spectator Reminders
Please note the important spectator guidelines:
There is absolutely no vaping/smoking of any kind on school property
When you are watching the games be supportive and positive to the officials, players, coaches, and other parents. Please don’t coach your child from the sidelines.
You, just like your student athlete, represent Upper Moreland. For many outside the district, this is the only view of Upper Moreland they get - think about how you want UM to be viewed by other schools
COVID-19 Reporting Guidelines
While your student is participating in the sports/activities, we require all positive COVID-19 cases be reported promptly to the school. This can be done one of two ways - via email at covid@umtsd.org or by clicking this link and completing the necessary Google form. Cases should be reported at any time during the day, nights and weekends. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at the above email address at any time.
